For the life of me, I do not understand why Republicans and conservatives refer to Obama as The One, or the New Messiah etc.. , as though Obama were God himself. This seems mostly to come from Christians, too.
Now, Obama is the most powerful man on Earth, but that certainly does not make him a God.
So what is with this?

Obama voted AGAINST the debt ceiling in 2006 saying Bush had a lack of leadership NOW wants the debt celing rasied - great.
Obama bitched about Bush over-spending and then Obama spent 4 TRILLION in 2 years - great
Obama bitched out GITMO indefinite detention of terror suspects being unconstitutional and left it open - great.
Obama bitched about Halliburton and now has Goldman Sachs investment bank executives working directly for him NOT TO MENTION GE's CEO as Obama "job czar" while simultaneously feeding at the taxpayer subsidy trough - great.
Obama bitched about the Bush bail out and then put it on steroids bailing out every crony company down the pike - great.
Obama bitched that Bush was hated by other countries and now Obama angered every ally we have from England to Israel to the Dali Lama while pandering to Saudi Arabia, France, Venezuela, etc. with the Saudis so pissed at Obama now they colluding with Russia/China and if France's next elected leader gets elected, France will be joining with Russia to secure oil for their country. The USA is diminished in world stature. Hated by just as many countries as Bush was - maybe more - Just great!!!
Obama bitched about Bush's military commisions and now follows them - great.
Obama bitched about targeted drone hits and INCREASED predator drone hits in Pakistan AND TODAY JUST AUTHORIZED predator drone hit in Libya.
Bush did NOT secure our Southern border - neither did Obama. The arrests of illegals are down not because of lower border crossings but because border patrol told sheriffs to chase illegals back to Mexico and/or not arrest them.
Obama bitched about lack of transparency in Bush Administration and promised a NEW OPEN administration and then once in became even more secretive to the point of not having guests sign the White House visitor log or having meeting out of the White House to avoid documenting who he is meeting with. Great.

For Me, it is a salute to Obama's Narcissism. His aura of "I can say whatever I want, never perform, yet ain't I cute???" For a lot of people it had to do with the way he was treated during the election, where the press just fawned all over him. Here's a guy with like no experience in squat, he comes in blabbering some platitudes, and it is like he is the second coming of Jesus. Getting the Nobel Peace Prize for not falling down between the White House and the chopper didn't help any.
Then, when you see the worshipful attitude of his supporters, who somehow manage to sidestep His Holiness's gross incompetence in office, it all kind of fits together. I mean lookit, Here's a guy who can't pass a budget when he has control of both houses of Congress. Can't stop the Bush Tax cuts, when he has control of both houses of Congress. This talk about the Messiah comes from folks like Hannity and Rush because they were disappointed in his success and felt the media didn't talk enough about Rev. Wright.
I don't know a single Democrat who agrees with everything the President has done but I have a great appreciation that he is office vs. anyone on the Republican side.
