SheShe - I am off for a walk of about 5 miles! I know you won't be up for hours - so I will look forward to seeing what you add today.
Crap! Arghhh!
I really need to lose weight, and I know how to do it, but have been eating like a pig since Thanksgiving. A year and a half ago, I ate a more or less perfect diet for about three months, lost tons, and felt better than I had in twenty years.
I did this (roughly) - no dairy, wheat, added salt, or sugar. Only olive oil for oils, and high Omega-3 rich proteins like salmon. Lots of beans. Very few tubers, lots of dark green leafy vegetables like kale, and lots of water. The salt and sugar were a bitch for 2-3 weeks, but then it was great. And then it went poof and I Kirstie Alley'd.
The other day Maid Marian looked over at me and said "Hey, you know, I'd come over and sit in your lap right now, but I see someone's already sitting there"! So yeah, the belly got to go.
Lemme sleep on it.
And then it went poof and I Kirstie Alley'd.

Good for you grumpy - I hope I am 20 lbs lighter a year from now.
BB /SheShe -Being a seasoned dieter - here are a few low-cal filler-uppers every dieter can use -___________saute 2 strips bacon with diced onion, adding salt pepper garlic powder and any other garnishing you like - (use Pam) add 2 cups - or more - green peppers - cut in 2" squares or slices -(hint: precook peppers and keep in fridge to have handy for quick meals - also cuts cooking time - cooks in minutes) 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce (your favorite) 1 slice low fat bread cooking time - no more than five minutes - approx 250 calories --------------------------- optional - yam or sweet potato - cubed - microwave - 2/1/2 min - 100 calories(sweetened with sugar water - approx 2 tbls sugar, 2 tbls water - delicious-(Splenda)__________________________________________sausage with pasta - 3 oz cooked spaghetti saute 2-1/2 oz chopped hot Italian sausage - done same as above - onion, etcadd 1/2 cup favorite spaghetti sauce - spoon over pasta with grated cheese - approx 600 calories -some nights skip sausage - contrary to popular belief pasta is very low cal - it's what is ADDED to pasta that adds calories - here we are very conservative - PS - I'm very simplistic - notice my "short" recipes - will not bother with recipes with more than five ingredients - Final hint: when dieting stick to 1200 calories a day - you'd be surprised how well you can eat on that amount - also weigh yourselves EVERY day - if you find you're two pounds off, don't wait until you see four - four goes into six in no time - stop at two!
Thank you BB,I am trying, but I did over eat during the holidays........Robin has a way with words and humor to say the least.....It's a good thing I wasn't drinking anything or it would of been all over my monitor, the "I Kirstie Alley'd" part just cracked me up........Take care.....I'm done for now........
Thanks EV - I agree on the weighing yourself everyday. Someone said a few years ago that you should just get rid of your scale - so I did.
I used stevia instead of sugar. Anybody ever try it?
I never eat sugar - but I have heard that Stevia is probably the best substitute - since it is a natural product.
She/She I am bumping this up so you can see it when you sign in today.
Grumpy

Happens to the best of us
HoodieI used stevia instead of sugar. Anybody ever try it?
________
I have been using it for years. I use it mostly in my coffee. I am soooooo addicted to coffee and drink way to much of it.

LMAO This thread is filled with comedians. Leno or someone should use the material.
Okay, I'm in.. I am not telling anyone how much I weigh - I could probably lose 15 pounds off a single butt cheek. Heading for the scale now....argh. :-)
Might as well own up. Scale sez I weigh 282 pounds, dry and nekid. Ouch.
Yoga? My shoelaces are so far away......
Hoodie - You equal two of me plus 3 ten pound turkeys . . . .lol
Are you by any chance 8 feet tall? If not, then yeah, you might be a little chubby.
Good Luck - Go Show SheShe and Beach Baby how it's done !!
Hoodie you are brave! I am glad there is not a scale in sight.
SPG,
Hoodie - You equal two of me plus 3 ten pound turkeys
---
ROFLMAO (I hope!) Laughing my ass off sounds so much easier than changing my eating habits!
Three ten pound turkeys? Where? (Hoodie grabs knife, fork, cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, and gravy)
I am only six feet BTW.
BB,
I figure by making it public, I bring more pressure/motivation to bear.
Count me in! I have lost a few lbs during this aftermath of the wreck simply because it requires too much effort to fix food with one hand and limping to the kitchen. My problem is not my eating so much, it's that I don't exercise as much as I did before Obama was elected. Now I feel like I have to be watching the news or reading online to keep up with what he is gonna pull next. I probably need to lose about 25 lbs. Never in my life have I had a weight problem at all until late in 2008. It's all Obama's fault, LOL! :-)
I have the same problem as gg for exactly the opposite reason - about the same time gg started worrying about Obama - I started worrying about how the Republicans were trying to destroy him.
LOL, Beachy, I'd probably agree, it's the damn politicians we have that have caused us to gain weight!! I used to walk or go out and shoot hoops every evening, was pretty active. But since 2008, I'm more into watching and reading the scams of our politicians and am not nearly as active.
Here's what we need!
Yeah - I need to give that up. No matter how much I worry - that do what they are going to do. For them it is just a game.
Hmm, I wonder what it would cost to get someone to pedal it....LOL
LOL, yep, Hoodie, that is what we need! I'd be out of commission more than I am, though.......at least for a little while.
BB,
Most hotels at least have a stationary bike near the candy machine, don't they? LOL
Agree, Beachy. We take our country seriously, but it's just a power, control and greed game to our politicians................BOTH parties.
Oooooh, sorry, I forgot for a minute. I hope you mend fast!

LOL! Too bad my kids are out of the house, or that could be one of their chores.........or a punishment.
Hoodie - I was just thinking about this machine I saw - very similar - the treadmill office

Hoodie, did you get my text about the Boardwalk show winning a Golden Globe?? I know that they won because of the eyewear!!!!! lol
The treadmill office looks kinda cool, actually.

gg,
I did, and thanks! Speaking of which, I had better go make some glasses. L8R!
Beachy, I'm a Pepsi fan, and I also HATE diet pop, but I did switch to Diet Pepsi, and now, after drinking it since right before Thanksgiving, I really can't tell the difference. It just takes a little while............
Later, Hoodie!
gg - I have thought about giving diet soda a try - but I know that soda in general is not good for me - and it would just give me an excuse to drink more of it. So, I just continue to have my occasional treat and beat myself up for it afterwards! :-)
I used to drink Pepsi almost like water, Beachy. I don't do the latte thing...........I like my coffee strong and black, and I only drink an occasional glass of wine. I don't like sweets, but my pitfalls are things like chips & salsa or guacamole, pasta (but marinara is my fav sauce), and ranch dressing, lol. I just need to exercise more, or even a little bit, lol! I've gotten way too sedentary!!
Heading out for a while. I really can't sit very long with my leg like it is, and I don't have a laptop. Talk to ya later!
lol - I hit "edit" to correct a typo and my post disappeared.
Beach Baby - You said yesterday that you didn't eat any sugar. OMG - Do you have any idea how much sugar is in a can of soda?
I just watched a show two weeks ago about a young girl who drinks 30 cans of soda a day. I know that sounds impossible, but they had her on video tape. When a nutritionist & a doctor visited her home, they stacked 25 pound sacks of sugar in her back yard just to show her how much sugar she was consuming. They told her she was drinking 10 of the 25 sacks of sugar in just 30 days. They also told her that she is going to die if she doesn't stop.
If you drink just one can of soda a day, that is over 8 pounds of sugar every month. That's a lot of sugar.
BB AND SHE SHE..CAN I HAVE PICS WHEN YOU REACH YOUR GOAL???
SPG - you are right. I should have said I don't USE sugar (the granular white stuff) and I don't have any in my house - as I don't really add sugar to anything. Although I did buy some to make Christmas cookies this year.
