There aren't many.

1. Really nasty words will be tokenized, i.e. mo******cker. It worked really well for Jonny Dangerously, This feature might not work for a couple of days.

2. Posts that are long excerpts of long articles or complete personal manifestos in cascading daily series, are ok as the start of a thread, but not in the thread body to the point where it disrupts the thread.

3. You really shouldn't post whole copyrighted articles. It isn't fair to the people who worked to produce and publish them. Give 'em a link and post SOME of the article, please.

4. Try not to shoot the messenger.

Do you see any rules restricting speech, other than excessive profanity? This forum has the same freedoms as the old one, except with real moderators and an Admin. The Admin and moderators are here to help keep things running,and to keep people from getting frustrated by a lack of concern for the site. Ask for help here, and you will likely get it. Post as you please.

I agree about Kurt. His mission seems to be self-aggrandizing and "holding court". As long as he doesn't interfere with other's use of the site, so be it! LOL

That holds true for everybody. If Logia wants to post, so be it.

As long as people don't make long, off-topic posts in other people's threads, repeat something a 1,000 times, run BWAAAAAAAAAAAAA's off the page to distort the format - that sort of stupid crap, this forum is hand's off from a content standpoint.

Just read your post. See my answer to Grumps above. Since there are real people moderating and administrating this site, people who have years of vested interest using THIS software with THIS group of people and want to see it continue, I think you will find the BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA's and other disruptive stuff will be disappeared as the moderators become aware of it.

So far, I AM THRILLED TO SAY, all of this is hypothetical, as people have bee eerily polite! LOL

You have to create a my-plugins folder then upload the plug in into that folder. I like it so far.

Also.. you have to change the permissions for the my-plugins folder to 755 before it will work.

I was working on a forum when you opened this one. As easy as this is to set up I can not believe "the old forum owner" acted like there was so much programing involved. It's all free codes with just upload and click to get working.

I'll check it out, THANKS! BTW, thanks for bein' here. Yeah, BBPress is free under GNU license and is pretty well supported. Some of the plug-ins though, have issues and security problems. Particularly, the private messaging mods. I really want PM, but haven't found a good mod.

I would like to add a couple of old, tired words to the list of no-nos. Racist and teabaggers. Their both ugly and really get no one anywhere. It is only a back and forth rant when it comes to calling people racist, and a terrible afront to gays to use the t word.

No mikeyboy it is not a terrible affront to gays to use the term teabaggers. Most gays I know find it amusing that the "frighties" (far right wing fear-mongering ultra-double-special Christian conservatives) have been labeled as such - and by their own words and actions.

And if you spew racist comments then you should be called out for your behavior.

Hey Beach Baby - Are they the same gay people who advocate making gay bashing criminal? I'm seeing a lot of hyprocrisy amongst them lately. I read a comment on here the other day from someone who said she is a lesbian and then in a different post, she called the Minnesota Vikings "Viqueens". Different set of rules for gay people?

I think it is PETTY of Van Susteran to post anyone's comments or threads with the exception of the nonsense comments or threads that have to no words in them like all those ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ threads/comments. She should have stopped those.

Van Susteran has very thin skin. It must be all those face lifts and botox. She should concentrate on learning the subjects she is interviewing people about and stop posting comments she doesn't like.

I said they find it amusing that the "Sanctimonious Tea Party" (my words not theirs) people ended up creating a name for themselves and then found out later that it had other meanings as well - including a sexual act - and just for your information heterosexual people can perform this act as well.

Bumpy - yes it is slow at times. Not enough people to keep it moving fast all day. Sometimes there are quite a few all at the same time and it really gets going.

It will get there as we build up more members.
