Palin, Huckabee, and the Donald all were playing "sleight of hand" in my opinion. All worked for FOX in some capacity during their "faux run" at the Presidency.

All three put on a "big show" - vying for the public and media attention - while the Republicans are in the background trying to figure out "WHO" they can run to beat Obama and save their RNC campaign money for a "short" "hard" fight against the President in 2012.

I think all three of these "PRETENDERS" were a set up.

Real estate mogul and “Celebrity Apprentice” host Donald Trump ended his White House tease Monday and announced that he won’t be a Republican candidate for president.

Trump, who had his main campaign issue pulled from under him when President Barack Obama released his long-form birth certificate last month, said in a statement that he had no doubts that he could have been the GOP nominee and beaten Obama in November 2012.

In the end, Trump's decision wasn't political, he said. It was business.

“I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election,” Trump said. “I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion, and I am not ready to leave the private sector.”

Trump was busy trumpeting the next season of the "Celebrity Apprentice" to advertising executives in New York after netwrok brass said the show would continue in the fall season with or without The Donald, Politico reported.

“I’ve decided that we are going to continue onward with 'Celebrity Apprentice,’” Trump said at NBC’s lineup presentation to advertisers. “We’re going to continue to make lots and lots of money for charity ... I will not be running for president, as much as I’d like to.”

Trump’s no-go might also be a way of preserving his empire’s brand, which has taken a monetary and public relations beating because of his Obama birther bashes.

Groupon, a deal-of-the-day Web site, pulled its ads from Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” Web site last month, saying in a blog post that “enough consumers have contacted us to warrant ensuring that we don’t place ads on the 'Apprentice' home page in the future.”

“It’s the same reason we don’t run deals on guns or abortion ... this isn’t a political statement; it’s avoiding intentionally upsetting a segment of our customers,” the post read.

A black ministerial group was weighing calling for a national boycott of Trump properties and products. Complaints that Trump was scheduled to drive the pace car at this month’s Indianapolis 500 prompted him to relinquish the honor. ColorofChange.org, a black-oriented political empowerment group, was pressuring black contestants on the “Celebrity Apprentice” to speak out against what it believed were racist statements by Trump.

Randal Pinkett, the only black winner in “Apprentice” history told “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” recently that he asked Trump to stop bringing him up as proof that Trump gets along with “the blacks," as The Donald once put it.

Trump’s decision didn’t shock savvy political observers, who felt his attacks on Obama’s origins and academic credentials were clearly stunts to generate publicity for him and his “Celebrity Apprentice” series.

Many question whether Trump was prepared to detail his financial dealings – which include at least four bankruptcies involving him or entities bearing his name - and answer questions about his multiple marriages, scrutiny that all presidential candidates endure.

And Trump’s political star, which rose after he went birther, was rapidly spiraling back to Earth after Republican voters learned more about him besides his TV show, vacation properties and casinos that carry his name.

Some Republicans started calling Trump a RINO – Republican in Name Only – after media accounts revealed that 54 percent of the $1.3 million he gave to political candidates over the years went to Democrats.

The list of recipients reads like a roll call of Democrats Republicans love to hate: Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who was Obama’s first chief of staff; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), former Sen. Hillary .....

.. Clinton (D-N.Y.), the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.).

Trump became an attractive potential candidate within Republican circles when he started challenging Obama on the birth certificate issue. But Obama neutralized the issue last month when he made his Hawaiian long-form certificate public on the same day Trump made his first potential campaign foray into New Hampshire, which holds the country’s first presidential primary.

Days later, Obama made him the butt of brutal jokes at the White House Correspondents Dinner while a stone-faced Trump sat among the throng in attendance.

“Now, I know that he’s taken some flak lately, but no one is happier, no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald,” Obama said at the dinner, which became a YouTube sensation. “And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter – like did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?”

Trump’s announcement comes on the heels of another political teaser deciding not to enter the presidential sweepstakes: Former Arkansas Republican Gov. Mike Huckabee. Huckabee used his self-titled weekly talk show on the Fox News Channel Saturday night to announce his decision.

Ironically, Trump appeared at the end of "Huckabee" Saturday night to wish him well.

“So, Mike, enjoy the show,” Trump said. “Your ratings are terrific. You’re making a lot of money. You’re building a beautiful house in Florida.”

Trump said Monday that although he’s not running for president, he intends to stay politically active.

“My ability to bring important economic and foreign policy issues to the forefront of the national dialogue is perhaps my greatest asset and one of the most valuable services I can provide to this country,” he said in his statement. “I will continue to push our President and the country’s policy makers to address the dire challenges arising from our unsustainable debt structure and increasing lack of global competitiveness.”

That said, Trump backed out of appearing at a Tea Party rally Wednesday in Columbia, South Carolina.

"There are still a few RINO Republicans that can help keep Reid afloat in the sea of conservatism that is beginning to pervade the Congress; but the 2012 elections will be upon us very quickly and the likes of Lugar, Hatch, Snowe, and Brown and others may also disappear from the political scene."

From his lips to God's ears!!

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/31667

Reid Will Open January Senate Session With a Power Grab Attempt

If American citizens needed more proof that Harry Reid, the scumbag Senator of the once-proud state of Nevada, but which now should hang its collective head for voting Reid back into the United States Senate, his latest nasty venture for unbridled power should provide that validation.

Not satisfied that he got the Lame Duck Congress to pass more “gawd-awful” legislation such as Don’t Ask -Don’t Tell authorization to turn our mighty military forces into “wusses-in-boots” and the START Treaty that makes the world’s strongest country’s arsenal look more like a third world tin-hat dictatorship where the bow and arrow will be its most formidable weapon, he wants even more.

Those two pieces of woe-begone terrible laws alone should be enough for Obama to convince the corrupt rulers of the United Nations, George Soros and the Bilderberg Group, that we are more ready than ever for a takeover.

Imagine our frontline forces armed with perfume sodden hankies and wearing pink tams; our Green Berets replaced by the Pink Tams; our Leathernecks replaced by silky neck scarves, and you have an idea of the fearless assault our troops will wreak on an unsuspecting enemy, providing that country is the size of Liechtenstein.

Getting back to the horror show that Majority Leader Reid is planning to conduct by gathering his forces when first they formally meet early in January for organizational purposes.

Human Events.com writer Emily Miller published an article in that forum on December 29, 2010 titled, “Reid’s Rules Scheme to Rewrite Defeat” stating, “The Democrats are trying to change the Senate rules so that they can ram through their agenda when their majority shrinks next week from 59 to 53 seats.”

Miller continued, “Democrats lost the election. Their power has been weakened significantly. So they are trying to do a Washington-insider tactic to try to grab power, even though the voters told them very clearly in the election that they didn’t like them, and didn’t like their policies,” said a Republican Senate aide.

“If Reid endorses the rules change, it would be the first time in history that a Majority Leader has opted to cut off debate on a Senate rules change by a majority vote,” said Marty Gold, a long-time Senate leadership aide and now an attorney at Covington and Burling.

In the last months of the 111th Congress, Reid operated with a 59 to 41 vote majority but his lack of success in producing valid law making legislation made him look like a blundering buffoon on many occasions. The Republican minority allowed only those measures that their own party turncoat RINO’s provided to the liberal Democrats by siding with them instead of their more conservative fellow GOP’ers.

But the November 2010 elections dealt severe punishment to Reid and the socialist-liberal Democrats by reducing his numbers of co-conspirators in the game of Marxist-sizing America. Even worse, the voters also defeated a number of Reid’s RINO Republicans who went against the now even more conservative minded American country.

There are still a few RINO Republicans that can help keep Reid afloat in the sea of conservatism that is beginning to pervade the Congress; but the 2012 elections will be upon us very quickly and the likes of Lugar, Hatch, Snowe, and Brown and others may also disappear from the political scene.

Election year 2012 could also be a year of exodus for several now serving liberal Democrat Senators who have repeatedly voted against the public’s wishes over the past few years. But these individuals may not be entirely supportive of Harry Reid’s attempts to build a base for himself with his radical revisionist socialistic power grabs.

Reid does have the backing of Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) both of whom have worked to draft the rules changes that Reid is planning to present to have adopted at the early January organizational meetings.

Clearly this bold and rambunctious power grab by Reid and his fellow socialistic Assistant Schumer will be met with extreme negativity by the Republicans in the Senate; and could be considered as a rallying point for the 2012 elections to gain more disaffected and disgruntled normal Democrats who are dismayed with the heavily socialistic flavor of the new Democratic party theme.

Reid will be treading on thin ice in the next two years and his party could easily reject his ineffective leadership as early as January if his bold and hungry bid for more power fails.

Year 2011 is going to be a very interesting political year. Stay tuned.
